A Prince’s Honor

A Prince’s Honor is a science fiction novel involving multiple story lines that slowly intersect and intertwine as the stories unfold. Much like an hour glass that has turned over the stories slowly filters down to one final through-line story.

“A Prince’s Honor” begins in a far-off Galaxy on a small planet ravaged by war, a young man, Prince Julius Windsor Briton, groggily awakens in a secluded hospital room. He quickly realizes the he has amnesia. A large older man enters the room whose mere presence commands respect and fear. He introduces himself as General Blackheart. He explains that all of Briton Royal family have been assassinated. Furthermore, the hostile forces behind the assassination are now occupying a majority of the Briton Empire. The General convinces the young man that it is his responsibility to unite his people. The prince vows to seek out and reorganize his armies and then reclaim his fallen kingdom. Over the course of the next year Prince Julius trains relentlessly. Without ever regaining his memory, and finally on the verge of his greatest victory the prince is suddenly forced into a horrific realization. Everything that he had been told a lie. The Briton Royal family are still alive and the General had been using the prince’s name as a rallying point to create a civil war within the Briton Empire.

Prince Julius must now find a way to learn the whole truth, the truth of how he waged war against his own family and his own people. However, most importantly he must find a way to regain his lost honor, A Prince’s Honor.

Smile ‘till the sky falls an’ the rain burns like acid.” a young female’s soft voice called out to him in his subconscious ever so gently. A feeling of warmness swept through his body and soul. Slowly, ever so slowly, almost as if it was the very first time, his eyelids opened revealing his brilliantly grey eyes to the world outside. Whether he didn’t want to look anywhere else, he couldn’t look anywhere else, or didn’t have the strength; the only thing he looked at was the ceiling above him that coldly stared back at him. How long he stared at the ceiling he did not know. Maybe it was only a minute; maybe it was a couple of hours. Time had no meaning. For some reason unknown to himself, he was merely content to be alive.

A Prince's Honor

“What’s up with you two?” Peter asked as he edged his way next to the prince in the line to get food. His square aluminum tray was tucked under his arm. The silverware tray was directly in front of him. He reached out and pulled free a crooked fork. He looked at it sideways and then set it aside and then grabbed another one. Feeling satisfied that it was straight enough he pulled his tray out and set the fork on the area preformed for the silverware. “What are you talking about?” Prince Julius asked. “You two have been ignoring each other for the last three days.” Peter quipped as he pointed to an unrecognizable meat-like product. An elderly woman scooped a large spoonful and placed it in the center quadrant of his tray.
